First tour for today. Tim Dotseth is the tour guide today. He always start the tou outside sharing the history of Menomonie and the transformations of the Wilson Place. Tickets are still available today for 1pm and 2pm. Buy your tickets in the gift shop.

The Wilson Place is open a couple more hours. Stop by and pick up your time capsule packet in the Wilson Place Giftshop. Share your thoughts to the future. You can choose from three Time Capsule options. The 10 year, 50 year and the 100 year time capsule. Learn more about them here.

As part of the Wilson Place Museum’s 50th Anniversary, we launched a special Time Capsule Project inviting members of our community to do something we don’t often have the opportunity to do: intentionally leave a piece of today for the future.

Be Part of Menomonie’s History!

We’re excited to see the Wilson Place Museum’s 50th Anniversary Time Capsule Project featured in Volume One!

The celebration may have been in June, but the Time Capsule Project continues through the end of 2026. There is still plenty of time to add your own words to the history we are preserving today.

For $10, participants receive materials for one of the following time capsules:

✉️ 10-Year Capsule — Write a letter to your future self, to be mailed in 2036.

💌 50-Year Capsule — Write a letter to your future family, to be delivered in 2076.

🏛️ 100-Year Capsule — Leave a message for the future Menomonie community, to be opened in 2126.

Time Capsule packets are available in the Wilson Place Museum Gift Shop on tour days through the end of the year. August 20th, 22nd, 27th and 29th.
