Sibley Historic Site

Headed to an event or tour at Sibley? You'll always start at the Dupuis House (at the top of the hill, visible from the highway--it's the one with all the signs)!

The Dupuis House is where you'll find our event space and restrooms, and all tours begin there with the introduction to the site before heading down the hill to see Cold Storage, Sibley, and Faribault!

If you need assistance getting down the hill during a tour, your guide will be able to tell you where to meet them with your car for the easiest access to each location.

The City of Mendota is hosting “Mendota Days” on Saturday, July 11th and the Sibley Site will be part of it!

As part of the festivities, the Sibley Historic Site will have its historic buildings open for public viewing (no formal tours) along with kids’ games on the upper lawn. The Mendota Dakota will have an authentic Dakota tipi to explore. In addition, the Maria Sanford Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will be offering free genealogy searches for anybody searching for an American Revolutionary War patriot in their family!

Due to a private event on Saturday, May 30th, we will close the Sibley Site at 2 p.m.

We will be open in the morning, but will not have the 2:30 p.m. or 4:00 p.m. tours.
