Downtown Museum Day Downtown Museum Day is Saturday, September 13, 2014 – save the date! The event is being hosted by a collective of downtown museums and attractions.

The fourth annual Downtown Museum Day is Saturday, September 14, 2014 with 15 local museums and attractions participating by offering free or half-price admission. The all-day event offers Tennessee residents the opportunity to visit their community museums – and to enjoy and share in their own heritage – for a significantly reduced cost. The committee organizing the event hopes to encourage resid

ents to take advantage of their hometown culture and bolster awareness of the role of museums in Memphis. In addition to free or discounted admission, many participating museums and attractions are offering unique programs and special tours for the day. Visitors should check each attractions’ website for hours and unique offerings.

The Stax Museum of American Soul Music is offering half price admission to all Shelby County residents on Friday, September 2nd, and Saturday, September 3rd!

Sun Studio is offering a BOGO (that's buy one, get one free, y'all) on admission all weekend!

The C.H. Nash Museum at Chucalissa will be FREE to the public on Friday, September 2nd and Saturday, September 3rd!

The Woodruff Fontaine House is offering deeply discounted tours for adults at $5, with children under 8 admitted free Friday and Saturday!

Elmwood Cemetery is offering free audio tours on Friday, September 2nd, and from 8 am until noon on Saturday, September 3rd!

The Belz Museum of Asian and Judaic Art is participating in Downtown Museum Day, too! They'll be offering a Buy One, Get One on all admissions for the entire weekend - that's Friday, September 2nd, Saturday, September 3rd, and Sunday, September 4th.

The National Civil Rights Museum has signed on to Downtown Museum Day! They'll be offering a $2 discount on admission for all visitors on Friday, September 2nd from 9 am until 2 pm.

We are so pleased to announce that the Mallory Neely House is offering free DVDs of W***y Bearden's "The View from Adams Avenue" to all visitors on Friday, September 2nd.
