Grounding in Clay: Flow + Form
An immersive Yoga + Ceramics Experience
Saturday, October 10th, 2-5p
Invite a friend and come flow, center, and create your own hand-made ceramic planter with The Grounding Studio!
Join us for a collaborative experience featuring a 45 minute guided yoga session led by Mandy in the studio followed by a hands-on ceramic hand-building workshop in our beautiful community garden. We will create a grounding, community-centered experience that blends movement and creativity in an accessible way. Learn basic ceramic hand-building techniques, such as slab construction, sculpting, attaching handles and brush-glazing. A wonderful opportunity to practice mindfulness and a creative flow state!
Nourish your creative spirit through the grounding practice of working with clay.
Set within the beauty of the gardens, this educational, hands-on experience invites participants to slow down, reconnect, and explore the fundamentals of ceramics through a thoughtful and approachable creative practice.
Working from a wheel-thrown planter base prepared in advance, participants will learn foundational ceramic techniques including clay preparation, slip application and scoring, surface decoration, texture building, and underglaze painting. The workshop offers an opportunity to create a personalized planter while gaining a deeper understanding of how ceramic pieces are constructed and finished.
Designed for all experience levels, the process is steady and intentional, encouraging creativity, curiosity, and personal expression at a comfortable pace.
All materials provided. Pick up your finished, custom planter in 3-4 weeks.
Get ready to dig in! Dress appropriately for a bit of a clay mess!
Space is limited. Pre-registration is required.
