Music has always helped tell America’s story. 🎶

Created for the nation’s 250th anniversary by America250, America’s Soundtrack is a growing collection of songs and performances that celebrate the people, traditions, and cultural moments that shape our shared identity.

From Gloria and Emilio Estefan’s “America” to original orchestral and choral works, the collection brings past and present together through music — with more artists and songs arriving throughout 2026.

Southeast Colorado, also known as Canyons & Plains, is a landscape of wide-open grasslands, canyons, and buttes shaped over generations. It has long been home to the Ute, Kiowa, Comanche, Plains Apache, Cheyenne, and Arapaho peoples, with deep cultural ties and history connected through trade along the Santa Fe Trail and Bent’s Old Fort.

Today, it’s also a place for reflection, where sites like Camp Amache and the Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site preserve and honor important and difficult parts of our shared history.

This region holds both beauty and history in every direction. 🌾

📍 PART 1: Prime Rib Dinner at the Lodge (5:00 PM-7:30 PM)
Pull up a chair in our rustic dining room. We are celebrating opening night with our signature Prime Rib.
• The Vibe: Intimate and analog. There will be no live music up at the Lodge—just incredible food and great conversation.
• Note: Reservations are STRICTLY REQUIRED for Prime Rib so our kitchen can prepare. Call us at 970-878-3336 to lock in your table!

📍 PART 2: The Buford Schoolhouse Country Dance (8:00 PM – Midnight)
Once dinner wraps up, we are packing up the trucks and heading down the mountain to support local history at the historic Buford Schoolhouse Fundraiser (42600 County Road 17).
• The Music: Live country music by local favorites, Cimarron!
• Admission: If you already ate with us, it’s just $15 per person for the "Dance Only."
• Pro-Tip: It’s a classic BYOB affair, so feel free to stock your cooler before you head down.

This is what high-country living is all about—breaking bread at the lake, looking out for the land, and heading down the road to keep local heritage alive.
