A familiar face and a legendary North Dakota entrepreneur stopped by Built on Grit on one of our final days of the season - Dot's Homestyle Pretzels! 🥨

As one of our 2026 inductees, Dot knows a thing or two about turning a simple idea into something much bigger.

From a family recipe to a nationally recognized brand, her story is a reminder that great businesses can start in the most unexpected places- and that a whole lot of grit can take you a long way.

What an honor it was to meet you, Dot, and thank you for allowing us tell your story! ❤️

Nothing says "grit" more than the Rough Riders!

We were pleased to welcome the 1st US Volunteer Cavalry Regiment - Rough Riders, Inc this afternoon - a non-profit charity formed to create and perpetuate a living memorial to the unique accomplishment of President Theodore Roosevelt and the members of the 1st U.S. Volunteer Cavalry Regiment known as "The Rough Riders."

Our team had met several of them over the course of the week, but their entire regiment showed up in the full uniform this afternoon to introduce themselves, take a picture, and check out both the Harold Schafer Heritage Center and the Built on Grit exhibit.

The Lt. Col. also presented our team with a Challenge Coin that's design highlights Teddy Roosevelt and the "Man in the Arena", as well as a Rough Rider pin.

It was an honor to meet this group and welcome them to our exhibit. Thanks for stopping in!
