They combine their artistic and administrative talents to offer opportunities to attend informative meetings, participate in exhibitions, gain skills through classes and benefit from outlets for promoting their work in the visual arts. The League has two yearly shows, a Fall Show and a Sprin

g Juried Show. The League also exhibits at the Peters Township Library and at our studio space at McDowell Shops on Rt. 19 near Atria's Restaurant. Many classes and workshops are offered throughout the year. Six general membership meetings are held during the year with guest speakers and demonstrators. Pittsburghers, help us settle a debate. Do any of the buildings in this Monet painting remind you of something out of our own city skyline? Let us know. ⬇️

See Monet's "Houses of Parliament, Sunlight Effect" when you visit French Moderns, on view through Oct. 11.

Is she looking directly at you, or is her gaze following you around the room? Leonardo da Vinci’s iconic Mona Lisa, the world’s most famous, recognizable, and copied artwork, has a storied history.
Painted between 1503 and 1519, it was owned by French royalty for centuries.
Liberated by Revolutionary forces, the painting briefly adorned Napoleon’s bedroom, then was installed in the Louvre.
Over 80% of Louvre visitors come specifically to see Mona Lisa. Due to new queuing practices, visitors have only 30 seconds to admire the painting’s legendary mystique.
