Our embroidered fiddler is here to announce that the National Slovak Society Heritage Museum is "going to sleep" for the summer! We will still be open our regular Thursday hours (11am-3pm) through the end of May and then we will be closed until Septemberfest. Details to come!

Regular Thursday visiting hours will resume in November. Wishing you all a safe and sunny Slovak summer! 🌞🇸🇰

Oh dear... National Slovak Society Heritage Museum will be closed for the remainder of April. We'll be open again every Thursday in May from 11am-3pm. Be sure to schedule your visit before we close again for the summer 🌄

If you're in the area, we're open today until 3pm and happy to welcome you and hear your Slovak story.

We join together with the Grove City community in saying goodbye to our friend Dave Dayton, who passed away on December 22, 2025. The Daytons were instrumental in bringing the large animated wooden carving that is displayed in our museum to the United States over 20 years ago. Our sincere condolences go out to Dave's family.

Happy new year! It's time to plan your January visit to the museum, open every Thursday from 11am-3pm

Over the holidays we received a donation of vintage Jednota newspaper clippings for our archive. One from 1988 features an article about an exhibit of kroje from the collection of Helene Cincebeaux! Stop by the museum to see similar kroje from our collection on display and chat with our curator about their history and significance.

Come see our Christmas Around the World display, which will be up until the new year! The museum is free and open every Thursday 11am-3pm through the end of the year (excluding December 25).

We are busy preparing for our 🎄 Christmas Around the World 🎄 event on Nov 29th!

Did you know that we have Christmas ephemera related to Slovak-American history in our museum archive collection (including Slovak Rusyns!)? In the spirit of the season, we're sharing this pamphlet about Carpatho-Rusyn Christmas customs published by the Greek Catholic Union of the U.S.A. that was donated to our museum.

We also have a limited number of our own publication "A Slovak Christmas Eve" available to museum visitors. Be sure to include a visit to the National Slovak Society Heritage Museum in your holiday plans to learn about Christmas customs around the world!

The museum is open 11am-3pm every Thursday through the end of the year (excluding holidays).

The newest exhibit at the National Slovak Society Heritage Museum focuses on kroje both in Slovakia and within immigrant communities in the United States. Traditional dress was an important element of rural life in Slovakia and continued to play a role in uniting Slovak and Rusyn organizations in the New World. We're pleased to present a selection of authentic and stylized kroje from our collection complete with various types of headdresses. Come visit us to learn more!
