The Overland Inn Museum Check the WCHS schedule for numerous programs and events throughout the summer season. Open May through September, Saturdays and Sundays, 1:00- 4:30.

The Overland Inn will reopen for the summer season on June 1 and be open Sunday afternoons from 1:00-4:30 PM from June to September for walk in tours or by appointment. Explore the era of stage coach travel at this former stop along the Old Harrison Trail.

We have so many to thank for helping make the Dolley Madison Tea a success!
First, of course, to our patrons who made time June 7 to attend the tea, which was in honor and memory of Bryan Long, Helen Vogel, and Ellen Matteson.
…and to the members of Helen’s family who journeyed to ‘Scutch to attend!
We’re so grateful to the Overland Inn committee of Bitsey Morehart, Linda Swihart, and Katy Cox, who planned, organized, decorated and baked all the desserts for the tea. Also quite grateful to Tom Morehart & Tim Cox, for loading, unloading, and running errands, to Anna Kimmet for making our signs and helping with so many things! - and to her, Kathie Van Horn and Amy Cox for working the tea - and a special thanks to Amy, our museum director/curator for an outstanding appearance as Dolley Madison! Also, to those board members who helped in myriad ways to prepare for the tea!
The Overland Inn is open 1 - 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday through the summer months! Stop by and for only a $5 donation, take a walk through history.

We’re gearing up for our (sold out) 2026 Dolley Madison Tea!
A couple of notes:
* Tea begins at 1 p.m.
* Park behind the in or behind the abandoned house next door.
* There’s a chance of rain so maybe stash an umbrella in your car.

A sincere thanks to everyone who supported the Christmas open house at the Inn. We were thrilled with the outcome and it was so great to see so many visitors and children. Those who loaned the vintage decorations and trees we extend a special thank you to each of you. It was a fantastic year for the Inn and wonderful to hear so many positive comments. We are planning more special exhibits for 2026 and events to celebrate America 250. Looking forward to another great year!

This is the last weekend to see the Overland Inn decorated for Christmas. It will be open Sat. Dec. 20 from 1 to 5 p.m. and Sunday Dec. 21 from 1 to 5 p.m. We invite you to stop by for a tour and enjoy the vintage decorations. A suggested donation of $5 per person is requested. Money raised is going towards the roof painting fund at the Inn. See you there and our sincere thanks for everyone's support this past year. Merry Christmas to all and blessings in the new year.

The Charles Dickens Christmas open house continues this Sat from 11 to 8 p.m with a Christmas market beginning at 11 a,m. Stop by for special gifts to purchase. Charles Dickens will do a reading beginning at 5:30 p.m. Please note the time change. He will meet and greet visitors at the Inn. It will also be the day for Christmas in McCutchenville with a parade. Sunday Dec 14 the Inn will be open from ! to 5 p.m. Come and enjoy the weekend in McCutchenville and stop by the Overland Inn to see it decorated for the holidays. A donation of $5 is requested per person with money going towards the roof painting fund. Looking forward to seeing you there.

The Overland Inn is ready to open for the Charles Dickens Christmas open house. The Inn is beautifully decorated for the holidays with vintage decorum. The oldest tree is a feather tree from Germany made in the late 1800's. Some highlights of the display are a paper dress that was worn by Helen {Logsdon} Vogel in 1930, This dress was made by her mother to wear as an angel in a school play. The dining room contains china that belonged to Dr. and Mrs. Fought of Findlay Ohio and dates back to the war years of 1940. The table stemware were purchased in Upper Sandusky in 1950 at the Harry Hart jewelry store. This was used by the Pagnard family for some time. Antique postcards and advertising cards are also on display. This is a collection one does bit want to miss. The Overland Inn in McCutchenville will be open this Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. each day Dec. 6 & 7. A suggested donation of $5.00 per person is requested for the Inn roof fund. We are getting ready and preparing the Overland Inn for an old fashioned Christmas. A Christmas open house is dedicated to Charles Dickens who was an guest at the inn when he traveled by stagecoach on the Harrison Trail back in the 1800's. The decorations are vintage and enhance the the downstairs of the inn. Visitors will see quilts and buggy robes, tables prepared for the holidays, along with beautifully decorated trees. The parlor is done in memory of the late Helen {Logsdon} Vogel. Much of the decorum were her holiday memories and the walnut eastlake carved organ was a gift to the inn from the Vogel family. This organ was the first organ used at St Peters catholic church now the Transfiguration of our Lord parish in Upper Sandusky. A stenciled sleigh and outdoor greenery complete the outside look of the inn. The inn will be open the first three weekends of December for visitors. Dec. 6 & 7 from 1 to 5. Dec 13 will be 1 to 8:00 and Dec 14 from 1 to 5. Dec 20 and Dec 21 from 1 to 5 each day. General tours are a suggested $5 donation. Come celebrate the holidays at the Overland Inn and enjoy the memories of yesteryear. More details will follow.
