The Mason County Historical Society is a 5013c non-profit organization setup to operate and maintain Fort Mason Museum, the Mason County Museum & Annex and the Kothmann School Museum. The executive board and board directors are volunteers from the community that are elected by the membership of the Historical Society of Mason County. Funds to maintain and operate the Museums are collected thru membership fees ($10 annually), donations, grants and fund raising events. Citizen participation and money are vital to the survival of this organization and our ability to keep the museums open for Public review and tourism in Mason County.
