The MMCC is run by volunteers and welcomes any and all visitors for tours during open hours. This Saturday August 8 1-3pm the Marshville Museum will host a reception for Artist Mary Erickson. Mary’s beautiful art will be on our art wall all of August. Come by and see the art, meet Mary and have some refreshments. She has graciously donated a beautiful oil painting to the museum for us to sell raffle tickets. Information will be available at the reception.

We celebrated  our 14th birthday here at the museum yesterday! We had a steady string of people who came by to wish us well. We we are so appreciative of you remembering our birthday and coming by and to say hello! This picture is our beautiful cake that was made by Betty Wycker! It was not only beautiful, but it was very delicious! Thanks to all who participated and thanks to our reception committee Phyllis and Patsy for delightful snacks and punch for everybody to enjoy!

Saturday May 2, 2026 the Marshville Museum and Cultural Center will host a reception for Tracy Price. 2-3:30pm. Tracy’s art is on our wall for the month of May. If her name sounds familiar, she is a retired art teacher at Piedmont High School. Come by to support Tracy, see her talents, and have a snack and cool drink.

Yesterday was our Grandma's Garden Plant Exchange and it was a beautiful day! Even though this event was 3 weeks earlier, there were many participants and plants were plentiful! It is always fun to watch people discovering a new plant they don't already have!! Special thanks to all the Master Gardener's, Beda Trenning Helms, Mike O'Kelly, Ken Bedat, Margaret Pigg, Lou Ann Lambert, and Gail Corteville for being there to help with questions about the plants and their care! They also helped with setting up and breaking down the display tables! Thanks to our docents who came help!
We were there until all the plants were gone! We drew for the door prizes and four people walked away with beautiful prizes!
All in all, it was successful day!

April 10 Marshville Train Derailment Remembrance Day all day
April 11 Grandma’s Garden Plant Exchange 9:00-11:30 with Master Gardeners and door prizes! Get your plants potted and labeled and come have some with us! Remember, you bring plants, you get plants or donate and get plants!
April 19 2:00 pm come to hear Tommy Allen discuss his new book, Beyond The Badge, with us! There is no admission, come early to claim your seat!
April 23 Spring Craft Class 6:00 with Tommy Braswell. This will be fun class so call Patsy to register 704-560-3644, no admission fee!

We often read articles in the newspaper or see them on TV about the activities of the Sheriff’s Department. Now former sheriff of Anson County, Tommy Allen, has written a book “Beyond the Badge, The Lighter Side of Law Enforcement.”
Tommy will be at the museum on Sunday afternoon, April 19th at 2:00 to talk about some of his experiences covering his four terms in office. There is no admission fee, but come early to claim your seat as we are expecting a record crowd!

This past Saturday, the museum hosted a reception for our artist of the month, Shelly Pentacost! Shelly was very pleased with the turnout! There was a steady stream of visitors enjoying the art, the artist and the food!
We were delighted to meet her family and friends! Thanks to all who attended!
Thanks also to our reception team, Patsy and Phyllis, for always providing a beautiful table and delicious treats!

Yesterday David Johnson helped us make spring wreaths! We had eleven ladies who came and the results were eleven beautiful wreaths, thanks to David! His knowledge of the floral design, helpfulness and sense of humor made a delightful atmosphere for all the ladies to work!
