Keith and Lynda Heffelfinger of Mountain View stopped by the museum this morning, arriving in a beautiful custom-built set of wheels. Keith crafted the vintage look himself, inspired by a 1928 Bentley design, all set atop an F-150 frame.

I invited him to return later this summer to explore the collection of early 1900s equipment and machinery that will be housed in the soon-to-be-built Canaan Community Center.

2026 promises to be a huge year for the museum. Working with the BRCDC on the Heritage Park, many new additions will be added to the museum’s interpretive and educational programs.

Below is the museum’s mission and values statement. The museum works under the direction and administrative authority of the Searcy County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Although occasional grants are used for specific exhibits or programs, no local, state or federal funds are used for the day-to-day operation of the museum. Those funds all come from private, civic, and organizational donations. There are no paid employees, all work is performed with volunteer labor.
