It is always a pleasure to host the Marshall High School Fall Art Show at the Michelson Museum of Art!

This year, we paired the students’ artwork with beautiful alebrijes sculptures created by artisans from Oaxaca, Mexico, and generously loaned to the museum by a private collector.

It is a great opportunity to bring together the creativity of students and rich artistic traditions. On view now until October 31, 2026.

It’s almost fall break, and you know what that means 👀

✨October 13th and 15th from 1pm-3pm✨

We have a fun fall break art activity here at the museum and we would love for you to join us! This family friendly art activity is self-paced and can be made with friends, family, or by yourself if you want 🌟

🍁 Free admission, come and go as you please, parents must remain with children at all times 🍁

Saturday was a blast! The museum is feeling so festive, and just in time for some cooler weather 🍂

Stop by the Michelson during the month of October to see the beautiful Día de los Mu***os exhibition, along with the MHS Fall Art Show and a collection of Alebrijes and Mexican masks 🌟

We have so many people to thank for all the hard work that went into Saturday ✨
🎨 First and foremost, thank you to everyone who came to our workshop, and thank you to Orlando Valle for leading it!
🎉 A huge thank you to our MHS volunteers and our coordinator, Rachel Driskill. And thank you to our community members who volunteered as well!
❤️ Thank you to the many families and to Jefferson ISD who have set up altars for our Día de los Mu***os Celebration!

Join us Saturday, October 3, from 10:00–11:30 AM for our Día de los Mu***os Family Workshop.

Learn about the tradition of building an altar and the history of alebrijes. Orlando Valle will lead a demonstration, and each family will create a mini altar to take home.

Free, but registration is required.

Adults 18+ must register. Children 17 and younger do not need to register but must remain with an adult.

Join us for a special family workshop celebrating Día de los Mu***os!

Learn about the tradition and process of building an altar, as well as the fascinating history of alebrijes. Orlando Valle will lead a demonstration on creating an altar, and each family will receive a mini altar to put together and take home.

When registering, please register all family members who are 18 or older and attending the workshop.
Family members 17 and younger do not need to be registered, but they must remain with an adult at all times.
