It’s almost time for Dot Day! Join us on Saturday, Sept. 12th for lots of fun art activities, storytime, and more! Learn about The Dot by Peter Reynolds and its influence on young artists, celebrate artist Yayoi Kusama and her dot-filled artwork, and make art of your own!

This event is for all ages, especially young children and families, and is a great way to flex those creative muscles 🔴🟣🔵🟢🟡

Did you know that mayhaw trees grow wild along the swampy bottomlands and periodically flooded banks of slow-moving Southern rivers like the Neches?

We will be adding some yummy mayhaw jelly treats to our screening of The Neches River: Wild Heart of East Texas on September 17 at 6:00 p.m. Come enjoy the film and get a little taste of East Texas!

Yayoi Kusama’s passing marks the loss of one of the most influential artists of our time. Her iconic dots, pumpkins, repetition, and infinity have inspired generations of artists and art lovers.

Our younger visitors can learn about this amazing artist through the books in our Discovery Room.

The Discovery Room is open during regular museum hours. Please note that it will be closed tomorrow, August 28, in the afternoon and Saturday, August 29, for upkeep and maintenance.
