Located in Marshall, Virginia, the Fauquier Heritage and Preservation Foundation, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, was established in 1993 to encourage the citizens of Fauquier County to become more familiar with the history of the area. Over time it has expanded that encouragement to include anyone who may be interested in Fauquier County worldwide. FHPF collects archival material relat

ed to the County's Colonial past and recent history, and provides a resource for both the study of Fauquier County and for genealogical studies. FHPF also holds educational events designed to heighten awareness of all aspects of Fauquier County's past. An ever-expanding collection of historical documents is housed in the John Kenneth Gott Library (formerly the Old Salem Meeting House), located at 4110 Winchester Road in the town of Marshall. Many of these documents were donated by the late John K. Gott, the late T. Triplett Russell, the late Catherine Price Kent, and the late Elizabeth W. Please check out the John Kenneth Gott Library page for more information.
