Meet our newest Gallery Member, Jeanne Moje MacDonald!
Jeanne Moje MacDonald creates sculptures and bas reliefs with clay, stone, bronze, aluminum, and iron – and incorporates acrylics, oils, watercolors, pastels, and found objects in her mixed media artwork.
“With sculpture, I can explore the tension between static form and implied movement, as well as creating something that can resonate with the viewer. When fabricating my more whimsical creations, I’ll often combine various mediums, venturing wherever humor and dreams take me.”
Jeanne comes from a family of artists, and has been drawing and painting since a young child. She started her formal art training at the Art Center College of Design, and later studied ceramic sculpture with Robert Arneson at University of California, Davis, receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art.
Continuing her explorations with three-dimensional art, Jeanne took sculpture workshops at the Scottsdale Artist School in Arizona with sculptors Richard Loffler, Bruno Lucchesi, Eugene Daub, and Oreland Joe. She also took metal arts foundry classes at Diablo Valley College, building her own molds and casting her sculptures in bronze, aluminum, and iron.
Jeanne has extensive experience with portrait and landscape commissions, and has exhibited her artwork nationally. Her sculptures and paintings are in private and corporate collections.
Jeanne is a member of the National Sculpture Society, Northwest Stone Sculptors Association, California Art Club, Yosemite Sierra Artists, and the Sierra Artists Gallery.
Jeanne’s art studio is located in Bootjack, not far from the town of Mariposa, California.
