A Patriotic Celebration at the Historic Carson House today. Thank you to all our speakers and guests that attended. We learned so much about local history and those Patriots who fought at Battle of Kings Mountain.

Looking for something to do after church tomorrow on a beautiful fall day? Join us at the Historic Carson House as we celebrate those local Patriots who fought at the Battle of Kings Mountain.

The afternoon will begin at 2:00 PM with open tours of the Captain William Moore Revolutionary War Cabin, opportunities to meet local authors, and photo opportunities with special guests in period costume, including Captain John Carson, Mary Moffett McDowell Carson, and General Daniel Morgan.

The formal program will begin promptly at 2:30 PM and will feature:

- Welcome by John Carson
- Invocation
- Presentation and Posting of the Colors
- National Anthem & Pledge of Allegiance
- Opening Remarks & Introductions
- Program & Speakers:
"Significance & Overview of the Local Patriots Who Went to Kings Mountain" - William Brown, Burke County Historian
"Black Patriots who went to Kings Mountain" - Mary Charlotte Safford, Member Quaker Meadows Chapter NSDAR
