Meet artist Lee Pilz this afternoon from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. as he exhibits four works in the S|O Gallery exhibition CONVERGENCE.

Pilz's works are Hydrocal plaster cast in spandex with metallic paint.

My work is abstract because I want to create objects that are engaging in their own
right – rather than a representation of something that already exists in the world. And I believe that ambiguity is essential to art. Ambiguity captures the imagination and draws people in.

Sculpture is my favorite medium because of its three-dimensional quality. I have
been influenced by contemporary artists such as Anish Kapoor, Dale Chihuly, and Mary Oros, who all create colorful, abstract organic forms

S|O Gallery is deeply honored to present Mark Lesly Smith's extraordinary exhibition of works from the Hope Suite, a poignant series of 44 works on paper initially inspired by the historic election of the first Black president of the United States, Barack Obama.

Each of the 24” x 18” works in this collection features the word “hope” translated into one of 44 world languages. Through this compelling body of work, the artist masterfully uses the universal language of art to build bridges between diverse cultures—offering a vision of bridges rather than walls.

This exclusive exhibition highlights four individual panels from the Hope Suite, presented alongside a stunning centerpiece: a custom quilt mounted on aluminum that seamlessly incorporates all 44 panels of the collection. In addition to these major works, the gallery is proud to display several special editions available for viewing and acquisition, including a complete boxed set of all 44 panels, a custom luxury scarf, and a boxed puzzle set.

In a challenging and divided world, these works provide a vital note of peace and unity. S|O Gallery invites you to experience this powerful exhibition, which beautifully mirrors our own spirit of open-hearted generosity and inclusivity.
