Today we worked on the parlor room, installing a tin-type style ceiling upgrade. There was previous water damage, so it was quite an improvement. It's a slow process, but certainly seeing the progress is exciting. Thanks Gary Donarski, Vicki, & Fr. JAY!!

I was thinking of the Manvel RIVERS EDGE GOLF COURSE today. We miss that beautiful golf course. A friend donated a RIVERS EDGE ball cap. I found a RIVERS EDGE golf ball and pencil in my golf bag. We're looking for memorabilia of Manvel Businesses of days gone by...let us know if you have any items to donate for our display in the Museum.

Today Erin Stadstad & Vicki Fruetel invited the local Manvel summer school to visit Manvel Historical Society museum. They learned that building was the former railroad depot. They received train tickets to travel back in time, to Ardoch, ND for a birthday party. They also viewed artifacts and displays in the building. Thanks for your interest in our project!!

We plan to make displays, remembering Manvel businesses of days gone by....so if you have any memorabilia to add, let us know. Those who lived around Manvel area remember hearing the early morning buzzing of Ronan airspray planes out crop spraying. Lois would be out flagging the fields as Tom flew overhead, spraying.... Or...maybe seeing their construction equipment. Tom & Lois Ronan knew how to work hard!

Today we invited Ms. Zak's 1st grade over for a quick tour of our building. They received vintage train tickets for a train ride to Ardoch for a birthday party. It was Great!! Now when they travel by the Manvel Historical Society building, they know what is going on. We are on an ongoing trek, preserving some of local history. This is a dream Annabel Montgomery and many, many others had, so it's beginning to come to fruition!! Opening up the museum for others to enjoy and teaching our youth about our area history is our goal. Thank you for your interest! The Myra Foundation, North Dakota Community Foundation-Statewide Greatest Needs Funds, Manvel American Legion, the Manvel Sons of the Legion, Kuglin Construction, Dub Construction, Turtle River Roughrider Snowmobile Club, and many private donors have made this continue to be possible. We are currently fund raising for ADA ramp accessibility and cosmetic finishing on the interior. Thank you!!

The 4th Annual Duane Bry Memorial Snowmobile Ride was a fun day! Our Manvel Historical Society board members and volunteers served the food for the event. HUGE SHOUT OUT To Troy from PAN-O-GOLD for the donation Of BUNS and to Vince from OLD DUTCH For the donation of Chips!! We are fundraising for the purchase of a handicapped ramp for our Museum north entrance. Thanks to all who contributed to the Free Will Offering. We appreciate your support!
Our restoration project is ongoing. KUGLIN CONSTRUCTION was monumental in the exterior work, replacing the roof, windows, doors, skirting at the base...exceptional job!!! We recently received a Myra Foundation Grant to help fund the purchase of the ramp, which we are so grateful for!! We also are needing signage on the building, so people will know we do have a local Museum in the works! Our dream for opening our local Museum is upcoming!!
