Summer programs are in full swing at the Beach Museum of Art! Last week we collaborated with lots of community members on educational programs such as Story Explorers storytime (with music by Kaitlyn at ), Young Writers' Workshop at Kansas State University, STEM Camp (in collaboration with Manhattan-Ogden USD 383), a Cyanotype Workshop for the Teen Fashion Institute (in collaboration with State Fashion Studies), and our BMA fan favorite, Young Artists Camp. Museum outreach teachers also traveled to Flint Hills Summer Fun Camp and Meadowlark.

The week's projects leaned heavily on nature and the influence of The Meadow at K-State. Students learned papermaking, natural dying with marigold, coreopsis, and onion skins, painting with coffee and turmeric, and cyanotyping fabric and paper. Thanks to Sherry Haar from State Fashion Studies for teaching us natural dying, and to Kaia with for teaching coffee and turmeric painting. It was such a wonderfully artful week. See you at camp!
