Did you know that in the summer after the height of the COVID pandemic, Banksy went on a staycation? In August 2021, Banksy packed his spray cans into a campervan and headed for the English seaside. Over one week, new works appeared across Norfolk and Suffolk.

DANCING COUPLE ❤️ AUGUST 6 ❤️ Admiralty Road, Great Yarmouth
A couple dances above a bus shelter while an accordion player performs nearby.
STATUS: Still in its original location and protected.

CLAW MACHINE ❤️ AUGUST 6 ❤️ Gorleston-on-Sea
A giant arcade claw turns anyone sitting on the bench below into the prize.
STATUS: Still in its original location.

SANDCASTLE GIRL ❤️ AUGUST 6 ❤️ London Road North, Lowestoft
A child with a crowbar builds a “sandcastle” from the pavement.
STATUS: Removed and privately sold.

SEAGULL ❤️ AUGUST 7 ❤️ Denmark Road, Lowestoft
A giant seagull swoops toward oversized chips in a skip.
STATUS: Removed from the wall in 2023 and stored.

WE’RE ALL IN THE SAME BOAT ❤️ AUGUST 7 ❤️ Nicholas Everitt Park, Oulton Broad
Three children occupy a sinking boat beside “We’re all in the same boat.”
STATUS: Mural remains, but the physical boat was removed.

RAT IN A DECKCHAIR ❤️ AUGUST 7 ❤️ Lowestoft
One of Banksy’s rats enjoys its own seaside holiday with a cocktail.
STATUS: Gone. Whitewashed shortly after appearing.

GO BIG OR GO HOME ❤️ AUGUST 8 ❤️ Merrivale Model Village, Great Yarmouth
Banksy secretly added a miniature stable and rat to the model village.
STATUS: Removed and later sold at auction.

LUXURY RENTALS ONLY ❤️ AUGUST 8 ❤️ East Promenade, Cromer
Hermit crabs and “Luxury rentals only” comment on housing and seaside communities.
STATUS: Still in place, but heavily faded and eroded.

INFLATABLE DINGHY ❤️ AUGUST 2021 ❤️ Gorleston Yacht Pond
Children fly from an inflatable dinghy as an adult pumps it up.
STATUS: Removed and preserved for relocation.

FREDERICK SAVAGE ❤️ AUGUST 2021 ❤️ Guanock Place, King’s Lynn
Banksy gave the statue of Frederick Savage an enormous ice cream and tongue.
STATUS: Gone. The additions were removed.
