Today, we welcomed our one millionth guest to the Discovery Center! The Cash family from Dwight, KS was surprised with confetti cannons, a certificate, a complimentary annual family membership, and cupcakes. Thank you to everyone who helped us reach this amazing milestone!

Explore the exhibits, come face-to-face with dinosaurs, and enjoy a beer, wine, or punch from the cash bar provided by Manhattan Brewing Company Come-and-go. Pre-registration is not required. Outside food is welcome. Adults 21+ only. No children will be allowed. Proof of age may be required.

Today is National Prairie Day 🌻 and yesterday was World Environment Day 🌎! For us, those are practically the same, because the prairie ecosystem is vitally important to the world environment.

The Flint Hills are home to one of the last remaining tallgrass prairie landscapes in the world. This native prairie supports wildlife 🦋, protects natural resources 🌱, and reflects an important part of Kansas heritage 🦬. Preserving it helps maintain the beauty, health, and resilience of our region for future generations.

Protecting the prairie starts with awareness, stewardship, and support for conservation efforts that keep the Flint Hills strong.

You can learn more from 10 am to 2 pm today as we celebrate National Prairie Day at the Discovery Center. Activities include meeting Flint Hills animal ambassadors, a reading nook, coloring pages, and more. All activities are included with admission or FHDC membership.
