The purpose of the commission was designated to be to “locate, name and preserve for posterity significant architectural, natural and other historic sites within the boundaries of the Borough of Malvern.” Over the past several years the focus of the commission has been to map the Borough, locating historical structures along the way. Exciting News for the Paoli Memorial Association!

The Paoli Memorial Association has been awarded a $325,000 state grant to help create a new Heritage Center at the Paoli Memorial Grounds. This investment will support preservation of the historic site, improve accessibility, and introduce new exhibits that bring local Revolutionary War history to life.

We’re proud to see this important landmark receive funding that will benefit residents, students, and visitors for generations to come—especially as we approach the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Paoli in 2027.

We are looking over our historic cookbooks to ensure we have all the recipes we need for the approaching holidays!
This Saturday, bring your recipe cards or cell phones for the new recipes you want to attempt, or bring some of your Malvern-based cookbooks for others to look through. You never know what surprise is on the next page! Is it something strange ensconced in jello? Is it a recipe from an old neighbor or teacher? Do the ingredients still exist in the supermarket?? Might the Historical Commissioners have some treats of their own to share????

Some of our favorite recipes are in our book "Malvern Treasures," and we still have a few blankets left for purchase, as well. We're in the George Norman Highley History Center on 11/15 from 2-4pm. Be there, or be a 9"x9" square baking pan!

The photos included in this post are some fun recipes or from familiar contributors.
