This oil and silver leaf painting commemorating the last standing Doggie Diner sign at Sloat Blvd in San Francisco is available at Lost Highway Art Gallery in Madrid, NM. The chain started in 1948 and the signs were seen all over the SF Bay Area up until the chain shut down in the late 80s. Archival prints mounted on birch panels embellished with silver leaf are also available.

One of the interesting things that's happened since I opened the gallery is hearing visitors stories regarding the signs I've made paintings of. A number of people have reported on witnessing or even attempting to eat the 72 ounce steak at the Big Texan in Amarillo, Texas. One woman worked as a waitress there 20 years ago. Several have mentioned the film "Will and Harper" which has a scene there. Although they weren't well received there I really enjoyed the movie.
