Nakira’s World is inspired by the idea that diverse and inclusive STEM play is essential to learning and building curiosity.
They create STEM products and curriculum for 2-7 year olds through a co-design process, supporting multilingual and multicultural learners.

Monica grew up in a small town in Mexico named Zacatepec, Morelos and has been learning, practicing, and discovering different forms of art her entire life. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Scenography from the National Institute of Fine Arts Center, National Theater School of Mexico, and a master’s degree in Social Innovation and Sustainability Leadership from Edgewood College.
Monica is the founder of Inventiva Works, her local art school that explores design in many forms – from theater design, puppetry, costumes, and illustrations to the use of materials and diverse media. Classes and workshops are presented in spanish.

ARTIST TEASER #6 - Babette Wainwright
In 1998 Babette discovered the power of expressing herself with clay, making sculptures which are informed both by her African roots, and by the work of the pre-Colombian people of Haiti, the Arawaks. In 2000, she earned an MFA in Ceramics at the UW Madison. She has since been working in both mediums, using the female image as a vehicle for conveying her sense of uprootedness, and her spirituality. Babette is a 2023 Forward Art Prize winner and her work can be seen both locally and around the world. Sasha was also the 2020-2021 Jay C. and Ruth Halls Poetry Fellow at the University of Wisconsin Institute for Creative
Writing and she received her MFA from New York University.
