✨We welcomed another new Madison artist to the gallery recently that we are excited to share. A big welcome to Tony Rubsam ()!

Tony’s natural illustrations are now available for purchase as prints and stickers at Hatch. Describing his work, Tony says “I find inspiration in the patterns of nature and enjoy capturing them through my line work. My favorite part of the creative process is discovering those small, unexpected moments of discovery as the piece comes together.”

✨Thanks again to all our artists and customers for supporting us over the holiday season! We’re back at it again this year showcasing the work of Wisconsin based artists, and have to take some time to welcome our newest artist and team member Wilbur Ross (he/him)!

Will joined us as a gallery assistant before the holidays and is such a great addition to the team, but is also a fantastic artist! Wilbur attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where he studied Scientific Illustration and focused on drawing animals at the Field Museum and Lincoln Park Zoo. His animal drawings are incredibly detailed, showing off the intricacies of the natural world through his skilled use of colored pencil.

We have a selection of Wilbur’s prints, postcards, and stickers available now, including these prints we had to show off. Stop in soon to welcome Will to the Hatch and Hazel team and check out his work!

🖤 Since Halloween is just around the corner, we’re showing off some of our most Halloween-y artists leading up to the spookiest day of the year!

Based in Milwaukee, Katie Gamb has been one of the spookiest artists at Hatch for years! Her lush paintings of storybook scenes have a slightly darker tone, making them the perfect Halloween decor that can stay up all year round.

✨We have another new artist to welcome to Hatch! Heidi Hankley is a printmaker and mixed media collage artist. She brought us a selection of her collages and prints including the ones pictured here. Heidi says, “The natural world is my primary inspiration and I explore natural patterns and connections in my work.”

✨Our collection of original landscape paintings has grown thanks to our new Hatch artist, Sedona Chinn!

Originally from San Marcos, CA, Sedona now calls Madison home but still holds on to her southwest influence in her art. Whether it’s an acrylic painting of the desert or of some locations closer to home (like these pieces inspired by the Arboretum and Pheasant Branch Conservancy), Sedona’s work is truly a great addition to Hatch - and maybe to your own Art collection!

Gallery Night Tonight!
Showcasing the work of Emily Marie Watercolors

This October we'll be featuring the work of local artist Emily Marie Watercolors! Based here in Madison, Emily is known for her watercolor pet portraits & botanical art, as well as a variety of instructional resources to help others learn to paint with watercolors.

Emily's work will be showcased in the gallery for the entire month of October during Hatch business hours. And join us tonight for Gallery Night from 5pm-9pm and help us celebrate the opening of Emily's showcase!

Come view Emily's work from October 1st, 2024 to October 31st, 2024. Her showcase will be open for viewing (and purchasing) during shop hours: Monday through Friday 11am-6pm, Saturday 11am-5pm, and Sunday 11am-4pm. Hatch is located at 1248 Williamson St in Madison, WI.

✨Happy October! And happy showcase opening to our October Featured Artist, Emily Marie Watercolors!

For the rest of the month, Emily’s watercolor art, both prints and originals, will be featured on the front corner walls of the gallery.

✨We’re so thrilled that we get to welcome Mel Kolstad as an official Hatch artist! Mel is a Fond du Lac based artist who creates original drypoint and watercolor prints, along with collage work. Her drypoint pieces are small but incredibly detailed - the pieces we’re sharing here today are all framed to 5x5 inches or smaller!
