Thank you, Bethel Historical Society!

Several members of the Madeira Historical Society were recently honored to be hosted at the Bethel Historical Society Museum. The museum is in the former Bethel Municipal Building, taking up two floors of incredible displays. What a great place to visit. while enjoying the drive to an area of Ohio still rural with crops planted all through the area. Pictured: Madeira Historical members Mike Widmeyer, Jana Widmeyer, Doug Oppenheimer, Bob Bartlett, and Carol Heck. The Village and its area citizens are very supportive of this museum. It was a pleasure to visit. Thank you to Judi Adams, President, Bethel Historical Society & Museum.

Did you know that Sears, Roebuck and Co. sold approximately 70,000–75,000 mail-order "kit homes" between 1908 and 1942? Customers ordered homes from catalogs, receiving everything needed to build them—lumber, nails, paint, plumbing, and hardware—shipped by railway train to their local station. We've got one right in downtown Madeira!
