The Mable House was built in 1843-46 by Robert Mable, an immigrant from Scotland. He was a millwright and a farmer and the town of Mableton is named for him. During the civil war the house was used as a field hospital for Union troops and was placed on the Historic Register in 1989 when the House was restored to its original state. The property now consists of the Historical house and an original

smokehouse as well as several additional outbuildings. The Mable Family Trust owns the house and Cobb County PARKS holds a one hundred year lease on the property.
