This is where I met my wife,
Lynell. The two of us worked closely together during our college life, and I have been collaborating on art
projects for over 55 years. We discuss many of our art ideas prior to beginning a new theme. We each
have our own principal discipline, mine is in painting and Lynell's is three-dimensional work and jewelry. Many of our art projects are some types of collaboratio
n. I received my Master of Fine Arts degree in 1973. I started "Rudy Hilt Design" in 1974. My 50-year career
included fine art, architectural design, product design and business development. Lynell is an accomplished jeweler and craftsperson. She continues to embrace her love for dimensional
surfaces by combining her hand-carved relief tiles with other collected items to create visually exciting relief sculptures. Currently she works with natural forms many that come from the forest floor. Her
assemblages are created from memories of youth and experiences with other people. Her compelling
work captures the essence of a moment in time. Currently I'm painting in acrylic over Venetian Plaster on canvas and continuing my work in digital
photography. I look to nature and industry for ways to expand on the idea of “pushing the visual into a
more powerful and striking image.” Most of my paintings are in a series of six to 12 images. I explore a
theme such as “Water & Stone”,“Sedona Memories”, and “My World Connection”. In each series I create
a pallet of color and ideas, or self-imposed limitations based on my study of opposites. We welcome comments at any time directed to, [email protected]
