Back in March, our 1949 Mack Engine, "The Pride" was involved in a fender bender. Unfortunately, when you're dealing with an antique Mack, a fender bender can be a big headache. At this point, we have sourced the parts and are working with the painting vendor to finish the fenders and bumper for installation.
While the unit is out of service, we are completely rewiring the 12-volt system. This involves removing all wiring, from the "battery to the bulb." The wire is cloth covered to match era specific, original Mack color coding from original schematics...and from the looks of it, not a moment too soon. We really appreciate everyone who has worked so hard on this project (that means you, Ed2). To support the Museum and our engine restorations, please go to www.firemuseummd.org/donate.
