Featured Student Artists at Switchgrass:
Jerome Marintzer & Gary Bretz

Jerome works with stained glass, mosaic, and wood to create colorful, easy-to-hang wall and window decor. Gary is a woodworker who makes unique, sturdy, birdhouses. Alongside donated artworks and local artist friends of the Switchgrass Art Co-op, Kansas locals Gary Bretz and Jerome Marintzer are the first featured artists in Switchgrass's student gallery section.

You are invited!

Discover the joy of crafting your own junk journal at Switchgrass Classroom on November 14, 2026 10 AM-2 PM. Guided by expert instructor Kathy Lupfer-Nielsen, you’ll enjoy a hands-on, step-by-step workshop using a wide array of unique papers and materials to personalize your journal. By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a finished, one-of-a-kind creation.

All supplies are included, so you can simply arrive and create. The class includes a lunch break, lunch is provided by Switchgrass and can be ordered in advance or on the day of the class. With access to a library of beautiful ephemera and tools, Kathy will help you explore your creativity and design a journal that reflects your unique style and color preferences.

Individuals are welcome to attend the class for $32 per person. The minimum class size is 3; the maximum class size is 6.

To secure your spot, you can purchase your class seat online or in-store. We kindly request that you make reservations in advance. Get ready for a day filled with creativity and fun!

Lisa Wolters - Sunflower Sue Made

Lisa grew up on an east central Kansas farm and has been involved in agriculture her entire life. With her husband, Josh, she operates Lucky Cross Ranch, a cow-calf operation in Atwood & Luray, Kansas. They have a grown son and daughter.
She was first inspired to step into western arts at Art of the Cowgirl in 2020. Since then, she has trained with master silversmiths & jewelers, invested and thrown herself into working with silver. Among her skills are metal fabrication, sculpting, inlay, stonesetting and engraving.

Lisa began privately selling a few original pieces by request in mid-2025 and attended her first vendor event, Equifest of Kansas, in 2026.
She is passionate about becoming an expert silversmith and practicing other western arts as well as she re-invents herself in her 50's.
