Today, Dad and I had lunch again at WB. We were so welcomed by Tre'Sandra Fields. She always gives big and embracing hugs. She’s been a friend since 2021. One day, I walked into WB and as I approached the counter, Trey, whom I had never met before, said, “You are beautiful, and you rock!” She honestly had to be the first person to recognize me publicly as a woman. Needless to say, she totally endeared herself to me! She continues to be a wonderful friend, and I ❤️ her!
After Dad and I ate our lunch, I drove us to our home. Dad, in his truly beautiful way of expressing himself, said “Outside, in here with the dog (Sugar) and you is…” and then gestured the A-Okay sign. He repeatedly thanks me for being here with him, and I feel so valued! I never tire of his gratitude and loving expressions!
Today is actually my first day back to work. I had to jump through a hoop to get HR to welcome me back, mainly getting my plastic surgeon to write a letter releasing me from his care and with the added condition, “with no restrictions.” My caseload of ten has been reduced to six as two of my clients have been with me at least two years, and the others three or more. My supervisor said, in essence, “we need to spread your love around!” It is good to be valued, but I’m going to miss my clients. They all have grown tremendously, and I have much gratitude for the time they gave me these last few years.
My health is improving, slowly but steadily. I’m developing a structure around the new responsibilities I have as my new self. So many more than I ever imagined, but I live with a deep sense of gratitude. I’m thankful especially for Leann and her never wavering nor ending support and commitment to me. She sustains me when I’m challenged beyond what I have felt my limits. I’m so very thankful!
Dad and I have been sitting side by side together on our sofa with Sugar in his lap. He’s been following my typing (on my phone) and just gave me the 👍 gesture. Again, I consider Dad a saint and his company a gift. I want to thank all of you who read my posts and comment, both virtually and in person. I love you guys and appreciate the attention you give to my writing and to me.
Thank you and until our next time, have a pleasant day!
