Luther Burbank (1849-1926) was an American botanist, horticulturist, and pioneer in the fruit and plant sciences. Over a career that spanned 55 years, he developed more than 800 strains and varieties of plants -- fruits, flowers, grains, vegetables, and grasses.
Over a century ago, a business partnership with Stark Bros. Nursery began, and Burbank often credited them with making his life’s work successful.
