Join us this Saturday for our next historical Hearth Cooking Workshop centered around our nation's 250th! In this workshop titled "Spring Rations & Recipes of the Revolution", we will help you replicate the essential meals that sustained American Revolutionary soldiers and civilians through the spring season.

Have you ever cooked a meal over a fire at an open hearth? Come experience the enjoyment of hearth-cooking and taste the delicious fruits of your labor! Receive basic instruction in preparation and cooking in our 18th-century Michie House. Participants gather at the end to enjoy a group meal! These cooking lessons with the Louisa Hearth Cooking Guild provide hands-on experience with traditional cooking methods, tools, and recipes, and revenues from tickets benefit the operations of the Louisa County Historical Society. The Michie House is located behind the museum on our Heritage Farm at 214 Fredericksburg Avenue, Louisa, Va. 23093.

Explore the rich history of Louisa County by joining us for Heritage Day tomorrow, April 25th from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. With living history demonstrations including blacksmithing, open-hearth cooking, candle making, spinning, plus mounted and unmounted soldiers and cannon fire, the day will prove to be one you won't want to miss!
