A fascinating piece of local history: Before evolving into the Hospital of Emotions, this location served as Los Angeles’s first-ever hospital.

It was unexpectedly established in 1856 by six nuns who initially traveled to the city to open a school, but bravely pivoted to saving lives instead.

We are proud to be part of such a remarkable legacy.

Art is the soul of Los Angeles, but it needs more than just an audience to survive - it needs active support. 🎨

When we built the Hospital of Emotions, we wanted it to be more than a standalone attraction. We wanted it to be a platform that genuinely uplifts the creators who make this city so vibrant.

Here is how we are doing things differently:
- Every participating artist was compensated for their time and talent.
- Creators were given full artistic freedom to express their visions without corporate constraints.
- The vast majority of our incredible artists live and work right here in LA.

By stepping through our doors, you aren’t just exploring your own emotions - you are directly supporting the local creative economy. Come experience the art, and support the artists who made it possible.
