🤖 THIS THURSDAY: Half human, half lowrider. See this futuristic cyborg in action (for the last time!) in front of Diego Rivera's "Pan American Unity" mural.

During the performance, artist rafa esparza will insert himself into the "CorpoRanfLA: Terra Cruiser," a sculpture made from a 25-cent pony ride which has been retrofitted to resemble a lowrider bike and includes casts from the artist's own body.

In this artwork, esparza engages with the intersection of gay cruising and low rider cruising. "When I was thinking about ... where art exists and how it exists, lowrider car culture was always kind of there, but the proximities were a little bit awkward for me; I grew up around it, but I never saw a feminine or q***r expression within those spaces," esparza said to Image Magazine. "I wanted to tease some of those conflicting feelings that I had with lowrider car culture."
