The Gallery at 74 Market

The Gallery at 74 Market In Venice, the first block of Market Street, has been at the center of the Los Angeles art movement since its inception. built his first gallery there.

Larry Bell, Robert Irwin, Robert Rauschenberg, Jonathan Borofsky, Robert Graham, DeWain Valentine, Michael Heizer, Billy Al Bengston, Ed Ruscha, John Chamberlin, Larry Gagosian, Jean-Michel Basquiat, along with many other notables, have either showed or occupied studios on the block. LA Louver Gallery first opened its doors on the block. Academy Award winner, Tony Bill, drew the film business here

in the late 1970s - when people struggled to understand why - and still provides facilities for other Academy award winners such as Davis Guggenheim. The Gallery at 74 Market St., has a long provided a host of artists a place to work and as both studio and gallery. Today it is poised to offer greater exposure to active artists interested in an opportunity. It is a venue to show their work during the Venice Art Crawl (every third Thursday) with additional opening times on Saturday afternoon into the evening and other times by appointment.
