We're happy to announce the 2026-27 Advancement Grant awards totaling $812,600 to support 36 LA County school districts and charter networks. The Advancement Grant offers financial support to school districts working to provide high-quality arts education to all students. Awards are matched by school district funds to expand access to instruction in dance, media arts, music, theater, and visual arts.

This marks the 14th year of the Advancement Grant program and grant projects continue to expand -- band programs, film and dance, mural residencies, and folklorico workshops have launched! Other notable projects expand access to instruments, curricula, and performance spaces at districts across the County. Professional development and curriculum alignment strengthen the continuity of arts education from elementary through high school and access to college and career pathways.

Swipe through to hear from recipient districts on how they used the funds to purchase instruments, expose students to new art forms, and build connections between students and their communities.

The Advancement Grant Program is made possible with funding from Chair , Supervisors , , , & , the Arts Ed Collective Funders Council, and through direct contributions from The Herb Alpert Foundation, The Deutsch Foundation, The Music Man Foundation , and Sony Pictures Entertainment .
