My aunt posted for national dog day, and it reminded me that I lost my best fried and companion of 15 years on May 5th. I’ve intended to do a grid post about Lyric since he left this realm, but honestly still haven’t fully processed it and sometimes still hear him in my apartment. How lucky was I to experience this most pure form of love in my lifetime?! He was my strength, allowed me to move to 4 different states completely alone, saved my life at least 3 times I can remember, was down for any adventure or art outing, loved nature as much as me and made me feel loved every single time I got home from leaving the house. His joy was my joy. Months ago I started going through my thousands of photos with him over the years and only made it to 2018 before I got too sad and had to stop. So here’s a collection of the first half of our lives together. It’s not a coincidence to me that DOG spelled backwards is G-O-D. Sometimes I’m not sure what I believe in in this crazy world but I believed in Lyric and our ability to do literally anything together. He’s the only dog that’s ever been to the top of 1 Times Square under the NYE Ball, and if anyone knows how we can get him in the Guinness book of world records for that I would owe you a solid. Lyric 4 ever! Dogs are earth angels. If you have a favorite memory or photo of him please text me I would like to collect them all❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Dear Diary | 6.7.26 | Two months ago I lost my best friend and companion of 15 years, and I’m so grateful to Kaleidoscope Desert for helping me along my healing journey. Living with all their unique creatures helped me feel connected to Lyric again, and he even visited me in rainbow form🥹fitting as 2 weeks to the day before he left me I saw his Rainbow Bridge bursting over me in Big Sur.🌈❤️‍🩹🐾I’m always moving forward like a whirling dervish and don’t make the space or time to sit with myself and reflect. Sometimes when I do stop a flood of feelings will rush in, and what a perfect place to process this tidal wave. & now I have my heart set on getting a goat. Lyric would want me to. If you know anywhere I can keep one near Griffith Park please tell me!! I love you kaleidoscope desert. I’ll be back to see all my new friends soon.🪞🐾🫂🌈🐕🐖🐂🐗🐄🐃🫏🐴🐐🦆🐓🐔🦃🦎🦕🦜🦙🐦🦓🐏🦚🐦‍⬛🕊️❤️‍🔥

Dear Diary | 4.23.26 | Santa Barbara, CA | On my drive back from my solo trip to Big Sur, the stars aligned, & my favorite pianist on the planet happened to be playing at , which I happened to be driving through on my way home! Honestly, I timed everything PERFECTLY. The reward - 2.5 hours with YUJA WANG & the Mahler Chamber Orchestra in the 6th row where I could not only be in awe of her fingers flying, but also see the reflection of them in the pristine , AND also marvel at her ability to conduct the orchestra in between each piano solo! This woman is really a living goddess we are not worthy of, and this level of power, talent, grace and conviction rarely resides collaboratively within a single human. I fell in love with her Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto no. 2 in G minor with the in February, listen to it at least 5 times a week, and what a treat to board that ship rolling in an ocean storm so soon after this newfound obsession began. (Try it!!) She also did Philip Glass’ Études no. 6 for one of 4 encores and if you can experience this without tearing up I urge you to get more in touch with your emotions. :) These videos are terrible because really you’re not supposed to record, but I love a digital memory and am convinced one day when I’m old and forget everything I’ll be grateful I often break the rules. Search her on YouTube and watch some real videos - I promise it will make both your heart & brain expand. & if you ever have the chance to see her in person RUN & then pick your jaw up off the ground. I’m not sure why experiencing magnificent talent and energy like this brings me so much joy, but it does, and maybe it will bring you joy too? Thank you .official for sharing your extraordinary ability with us, and shout out to the impeccable I feel fortunate to have been introduced to. Also I will never forget the woman next to me saying “please don’t cheer so loud” after Prokofiev’s piano concert no 2 and I politely turned to her and said “ma’am how can you witness that & not be screaming?!” Normalize treating classical music events like sporting events. Return the energy given❤️‍🔥🎹❤️‍🔥

A month ago I spent 7 hours at with a film camera someone gave me to try that I had no idea how to use or focus. It had very limited exposures compared to the endless capabilities of our hand computers, and I took my task quite seriously. This was my first trip to Esalen, and was during a moment in my life I really needed some grounding and to re-find both my inner strength and love for myself (& this magical eden reopened both of those doors for me). There’s no place on this planet I’ve visited yet that has grounded me in this way, and I barely spoke to any humans during those 7 hours! Just spent time in my mind and writing letters to myself which I rarely find the space for in my busy daily life. All magic comes from within if you can find the strength to open up. Anyway, in this new place, and through this new lens (pun intended) I got to work seeking out beauty and light. 🔑🚪Maybe this was the key that unlocked those stuck doors for me?? Idk but it got me thinking about two things. 1) Maybe curiosity + trying new things is the magic potion for unlocking blocks in our lives? Could it be that easy?? Why do adults get stuck in routines? Does the routine kill the growth movement? 2) Maybe art is only about the process & has zero to do with the outcome or product? Maybe I was always drawn to artists because of the ways they THINK, delusionally believe in ideas, and speak - yet it had little to do with the transactional products or end results? When these photos were developed and given to me I at first hated every single one of them, but a month later I love them and am so grateful to have the time capsule physical memory of such a transformative moment in time. Not to mention a reminder of all the power I have within myself + how brave & independent I am. We all forget things sometimes. Grateful for the memories & ideas that can reorient & remind. (Capital A Art) Ps. GO TO ESALEN SWIM IN THE HOT SPRINGS GET A MASSAGE OPEN YOUR HEART & MIND (the hype is real - you’ll NEVER forget/regret it)🌞☮️🌅🫂❤️‍🔥

GO SEE | conduct Wagner’s Die Walküre at ~ through this weekend! (HIGHLY recommend the powerhouse act III again Sunday) I wasn’t familiar with Wagner’s Ring Cycle & WOW what a way to start learning this new story - which honestly has many inherent themes present in several childhood/adulthood fairytale/fantasy stories you’re likely familiar with through simply living as a HUMAN on this planet. I was pleasantly surprised how much I loved the minimal Gehry sets. Fantastic to be able to see the massive orchestra (6 harps omg!!!)front & center stage as well. A few ideas that resonated with me the most: 1) I wanted to hate Brünnhilde but by the end I couldn’t have found a stronger character to identify with! She acts from her loyal FEELING towards her father over the thinking and direction he provides verbally, and IMO is ultimately punished for doing the right thing. A spell is set & she is put to sleep atop a mountain in a ring a fire, where now only the most brave & capable man may reach her, wake her, and make her his wife.(protect at all costs from ordinary men) She is a magical treasure - a Valkyrie - a goddess on horseback. I am her & she is me. [divine timing as I prepare to ride a horse up a mountain tomorrow🥹] 2) Nothing is ever black and white - living & relationships are INCREDIBLY complicated. You can never please everyone so stay true to yourself. 3) Orchestration was the original cinema/storytelling. 4) From the program ~ “Our gods are but mirrors or projections of our own psyches, common men rendered vulnerable by their own fears and frailties…the god realizes that his own constructs - power, law, moral dogma, and tradition - have become the cage that suffocates his will & his liberty.” Perhaps there’s too much danger in putting humans on pedestals & worshiping a singular thing? Perhaps we need mirrors to face ourselves & find worlds within worlds & ideas within ideas? If the way we’ve been idolizing has been repeating these patterns for hundreds and hundreds of years maybe it’s time for a new way of living and being? Let’s break those toxic shambles! Just a silly thought. ❤️‍🔥💍🎠🎶

yesterday was my birthday!🎈🎂and this was me last Saturday in the midst of the most perfect pre-celebration in one of my favorite places in LA.🎄everything since has been lowkey & sweet & thoughtful & full of so many of my most favorite things + humans AND the sky gave me the most beautiful sunset gift last night🌄👽thank you sweet friends and family who checked in ILY❤️‍🔥

the thing that has made me happiest this year has been going to the theater for operas, musicals, plays, and countless music performances. contrary to my previous years in LA, this year found me desiring to shrink and experience more than i output or share with others. my therapist tells me it’s a healthy escape, and i can not express enough how much it’s helped me get through! i thought why not make a list of every show i’ve seen since my birthday last year, and omg it’s 113! (slides 6 - 11) (i’ve also done 71 Lagree classes since July but that’s another new adventure)

i just love experiencing wonder and whimsy with friends, then talking about it all on the drives home!!! even if i dislike a show, i ALWAYS learn something new, or gain a new perspective. i believe it’s very important that we as humans make an effort to do these things more - to get outside of our own lives, our own selves. i think it helps with empathy and understanding. it’s also incredible to see the teamwork that it takes to make these shows happen and come to life! i find these logistics equally exciting and wondrous. one day i will be a part of one of these teams, and i’m so grateful to the couple artists who let me join them this year and try something new. you opened my eyes to new and improved ways of operating and being!

my birthday wish is that you’ll come see a show with me this year! tell me what you like - i will find something perfect we can experience TOGETHER. i’m kinda an expert at finding things and the best tickets iykyk, and i’d love to learn something new with you my friends. my other wish is that i spend more time back in nature on this next lap. thank you friends who taught me how to camp this year! love you and seriously text me and let’s make some nature or theater plans!!!!🎂👽❣️🎟️🌄
