California State Treasurer Fiona Ma Recognizes ACCA Fine Arts’ ‘Portals and Depth’ Exhibition as Prelude to Comic-Con.

In a convergence of contemporary fine art and the burgeoning season of pop culture, ACCA Fine Arts recently concluded its specialized one-week exhibition, “Portals and Depth,” held at the E2Art Gallery in Los Angeles.

The exhibition, which ran from July 21 through July 26, 2026, served as a sophisticated prelude to the San Diego Comic-Con season, exploring themes of dimension, light, and visual perception.

Veru Narula’s “Underwater Art Retreat” meticulously examined the movement of light through water to the ocean floor, resulting in immersive, contemplative canvases.

Visionary Artists and Perception
Curated by ACCA Fine Art’s directors Carlos Benitez and Maya Ito, “Portal and Depth” featured the groundbreaking works of visionary artists Veru Narula and Fahad Alhumaid. The exhibition offered a study in contrast and dimension:

* Fahad Alhumaid’s “Crystal Portals” series utilized photography and resin to layer pop culture elements into complex, multi-dimensional works.

Behind every great artist lies hours of research, discipline, and, of course, education. This May, Sotheby’s will partner with the Yale School of Art for a benefit auction during The New York Sales that will raise money for the Dean’s Scholarship Fund. This initiative is part of the University’s ongoing effort to build endowed, long-term resources to support MFA students.

Here, Sotheby’s specialist Ashkan Baghestani and Kymberly Pinder, Dean of the Yale School of Art, walk through all that happens behind the scenes to nurture young artists.

Highlights from the sale include works by Joseph Albers, Barkley Hendricks, and Richard Prince. Yale School of Art alumnae such as Howardena Pindell and Mickalene Thomas have also donated works. Learn more about the sale, taking place 15 May, at the link in bio.
