The Village was proud to host the Recording Academy for Music Advocacy Day, bringing Academy members together with U.S. Representatives Sydney Kamlager-Dove and Laura Friedman, along with staff from Rep. Ted Lieu’s office.

The day’s conversations focused on protecting human creativity in the age of AI, securing fair compensation, and supporting music makers nationwide. We’re honored to provide a space where our community can come together, speak up, and help build a future in which creators thrive.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Glen Hansard.

In 2007, we welcomed Glen and The Swell Season to The Village for a special KCRW session with Nic Harcourt. Glen was as kind and beautiful a human being as his voice was powerful and moving.

We will miss him deeply. Rest in peace, Glen.
