As a small business owner who finds deep joy in beautifying spaces, supporting the arts and bringing people together, I am struggling to do so while witnessing the escalating violence and injustice around us. I am from Minnesota and have just returned from there. Seeing what continues to unfold there, here in Los Angeles and in cities across the country is devastating and impossible to ignore. We are living in a world that feels increasingly brutal and immoral.
I refuse to turn a blind eye to what is happening in our nation. Our freedoms and due process are being stripped away. Our friends, coworkers and neighbors are living in fear. Innocent people are being killed before our eyes. Art may not stop the violence, but it refuses to let the truth be erased. I will always stand up for human rights, equality and justice for all.
