Moso Art

Moso Art Moso Art, a contemporary art gallery in S. CA with exclusive bodies of work by mid career artists Moso Art is a gallery and advisory by appointment only.

We help collectors and art lovers cross the traditional threshold that divides the artists and patrons. Here at Moso Art, we believe that collecting art is the ultimate endorsement of the what’s, the why’s, and the how’s behind the artist’s interpretation and expression. When the art invokes our senses and the work seeps into our hearts and our minds, that unyielding force of creativity supercharg

es our personal power where we in turn knowingly or unknowingly join the movement to propel the artist’s shared ideologies, causes and personal messages. Moso bamboo is a Chinese bamboo that takes 5 years to sprout. During that time of preparation, it amasses momentum and immense power underground to be able to sprout 90 feet in six weeks. To get there, it takes patience, faith and commitment. In this world where we celebrate in public what we practice in private, it is our aim to create a platform to empower and celebrate together the core essence of artistic expression.

Happy Mother’s Day!

It can’t be more fitting to make this image out of one of the paintings by an 89 year old master from China, PANG Yuan (龐嬡老師). Master PANG is a lifelong observer and painter of flowers stemmed from the vivid memory of the flower fields of a hometown she was forced to leave during childhood.

This vivid expression of pink peonies in this expression is done through one of her favorite techniques that blurs the secondary elements (the leaves and branches) to give more weight to the dynamic beauty of the flower and its petals, guiding viewers to stay with the focal point.

On this Mother’s Day, may all your hearts bloom with the gratitude and love from your loved ones.

Morning of June 20th 2020, this Yuroz bronze sculpture (Ed:49) in silver leaf finish was showcasing at the corner of my living room on a pedestal and a bird flew in to say hello. So grateful I passed by and captured the moment. Reminded me I wrote a prose about after that. Just dug it out and put out a short blog with more photos to share. It’s the new year energy I am feeling and it is so powerful. Are you ready? Mosoart.com/blog.

“Intrepid” is the name I picked in 2016 when working with Yuroz to debut his the first and only 27”H Yuroz horse sculpture in brushed iron in Artstage Singapore. It captures the moment a pioneer charges forward, the leader of his tribe takes the big leap, and the adventurer spirit actualizes into action. It is the story of courage, vision and commitment for the better, the greater good, for freedom, and for the celebration of life. Displayed here is the limited Collectors’ Edition in 24k gold leaf and in Venetian silver (Ed:49), from different angles, different times of the day, and different lighting in the room. The gratitude of time to pause for life’s surprises when you least expect it, to give gratitude to a times passed and visualize times ahead is the joy of life. These photos are just a few impromptu photos of many I took to remember what made me stop in passing and how I felt. As we get into the Year of the Horse in a month, I want to share these capsules and invite a conversation about your Intrepid journey, the ones you want your offsprings to know.

Sneak preview: Yuroz, new collection in multi medium, “Relationships”. Yuroz dabbled with ceramics in his expressions over twenty years ago. Beautiful vases, bowls, platters and plates were made and sold. The pottering process frustrated him and he stopped making more. To-date, his private collection contains many of his narrative pieces that he made from scratch

Beginning mid last year, Yuroz has been working to express his simple lines and sensual curves with bright colors in a contemporary style, reinvented/repurposed his symbolism and romantic narrative roots to a minimalistic spunky and happy presentation.

Yuroz “Be Mine”, oil on canvas, 14”x11” needs no interpretation. This cradle of strength with tenderness allures and wakes our sensuality at the cellular level.

Moso Art was the benefactor and sponsor for the 13 feet (4 meter) installation “Eternity” sculpture in polished steel finish in the 5th International Urban Sculpture Festival organized by the Municipal Publicity Department of JIMO City and JIMO City Federation of Literary and Art Circles in China. This historical installation was subsequently acquired into the permanent collection of Jimo City, one of China’s cultural power centers. Yuroz, a master painter and sculptor created the “Eternity” sculpture as a contemporary minimalist representation of the restorative power of wholesome love and compassion.

This is a story of the actualization of vision sparked by mutual appreciation, love, and respect between two artists, and Mr. Cao. It’s been 5 years since we saw Mr. Cao, a renowned sculptor in China with monumental historical life size sculptures all across the nation and two personal museums in North and South China with his life’s work across mediums. We finally reunited yesterday. He has been a great friend since 2016. This is a slide show capturing fun and work moments with this generous man who guided us and made it a point to visit with us with each installation of Yuroz’s life size sculpture regardless of which province or city. He also visited our gallery in Los Angeles and we took excursions with other artists. Sharing these sweet memories as a testament to how artists are conduits between an idea and reality. This is a man who lives everyday happy and connected to his mission and vision. This story is nothing but empowering and inspiring.
