Moso Art

Moso Art Moso Art, a contemporary art gallery in S. CA with exclusive bodies of work by mid career artists Moso Art is a gallery and advisory by appointment only.

We help collectors and art lovers cross the traditional threshold that divides the artists and patrons. Here at Moso Art, we believe that collecting art is the ultimate endorsement of the what’s, the why’s, and the how’s behind the artist’s interpretation and expression. When the art invokes our senses and the work seeps into our hearts and our minds, that unyielding force of creativity supercharg

es our personal power where we in turn knowingly or unknowingly join the movement to propel the artist’s shared ideologies, causes and personal messages. Moso bamboo is a Chinese bamboo that takes 5 years to sprout. During that time of preparation, it amasses momentum and immense power underground to be able to sprout 90 feet in six weeks. To get there, it takes patience, faith and commitment. In this world where we celebrate in public what we practice in private, it is our aim to create a platform to empower and celebrate together the core essence of artistic expression.

People ask: “Which piece should I buy?” My advice is always : “The one that stops your breath and the one that you cannot stop thinking about. 2.5 years ago I was doing a remodeling and I made my image of this limited edition Yuroz “The Hug” come true… The long hallway, the accent light when everything else is dimmed and this massive painting takes up the entire wall. Passion is when it just won’t go away. This was my first purchase of this artist’s work and it still stops my breath 30 plus years later. Have a great week and sleep blessed!

YUROZ “The Hug”, limited edition serigraph that has been with me for over 30 years. The intensity of the male and female connection was what grabbed me. In my last remodeling 2.5 years ago, I finally made this vision come true with the display I have always imagined in my home. What is the piece of art you must buy? Easy. It’s the one that stops your breath and one that you cannot stop thinking about. Send me images of yours!

This new original oil on canvas by Yuroz spoke to me today. The word ‘Dignity’ came up for me. The love of and from animals is a deeply personal one: what you notice of them and them of you. The intimacy in this mutual companionship is represented with subtlety between the oblong shapes and soft and warm color choices in the background and the exclusive use of curves (absence of corners) of the woman’s anatomy with the woman ever so slightly tugging the cat in with her other arm. The cat sits proud with her pointy ears at our focal point with her curved paw resting gently on her master’s thumb, signaling trust and closeness but still on the alert. The woman’s collarbone and inside neckline highlight the cat’s face accenting like the corner of a picture frame. It hit me today as I see the love and loss and the living all in this one image, masterfully executed with such ease. Bravo.

Happy Mother’s Day!

It can’t be more fitting to make this image out of one of the paintings by an 89 year old master from China, PANG Yuan (龐嬡老師). Master PANG is a lifelong observer and painter of flowers stemmed from the vivid memory of the flower fields of a hometown she was forced to leave during childhood.

This vivid expression of pink peonies in this expression is done through one of her favorite techniques that blurs the secondary elements (the leaves and branches) to give more weight to the dynamic beauty of the flower and its petals, guiding viewers to stay with the focal point.

On this Mother’s Day, may all your hearts bloom with the gratitude and love from your loved ones.
