A new museum showcasing the achievements of local sports figures opened to the public on September 20, 2016. Opened Sept. 20, 2016, the Lorain Sports Hall of Fame honors those whose names are synonymous with all that is the best in Lorain athletic achievement. Their plaques and other Lorain sports memorabilia are displayed in the LSHOF Museum. The single most important factor for selecting those t
o be enshrined is that the general public nominates them. Nominations are accepted year-round; however, only those received by September 30th are eligible for that year’s screening committee detailed evaluation process. We are sure that many of your acquaintances would be eligible for the Hall of Fame; however, this will not happen until YOU, the public, submit their name and personal qualifications. The end result of this process is to establish a ballot for final election. The Hall of Fame Committee then votes in February to select the Class of Inductees that are enshrined at the annual Banquet in May.
