So! You think We wuz outta bizzness!
Thanx to Nancy Galford we ain't!
It's been a long time coming. I will say our sign will last another 40 years all because of Nancy's persistence and drive.
We gotta love that Girl!

PUBLIC NOTICE: Things are rapidly changing. The supply of hand sanitizer for the hospitals in the state is severely compromised. There will be critical need in about one week. Instead of each distillery trying to fill the need, the Washington Distiller’s Guild is coordinating medical facilities in need. Facilities will be matched to the nearest distillery (such as us with St John’s). We will supply sanitizer in 1 liter bottles and five gallon buckets. This need is anticipated for at least the next three months. The emergency authorization for distilleries to produce hand sanitizer now runs through June.

We will start production immediately upon obtaining supplies. All of our production will go to local hospitals. We should be able to supply about 30 gallons per month. Thousands of gallons are needed statewide.

Unlike the small amount of product we originally planned to produce with existing base product, we are now being called upon to supply larger amounts that will require us to purchase ingredients and packaging we do not have. The price we will be paid will not cover our costs, at least initially. We need money to purchase bulk products and packaging. This will run about $2000. Money we do not have. We have already spent about $400 getting preliminary supplies to learn how to produce sanitizer

As soon as product arrives, we could also benefit from some limited volunteer labor to help produce and package the sanitizer. If you are interested, contact us. Once supplies are in we can begin production. We will practice social distancing while producing the sanitizer. Much of the time is tedious, like watching water boil. Please help us help our community get through this pandemic. As a bonus, for those who donate at least $50, we will give away (2) 8 oz. bottles of hand sanitizer for personal use per month for the duration of the program.

Many of you, have already donated. Thank you. If you haven’t donated, please consider doing so. Donations can be made to:
Eagle Cliffs Distillery
160 Whitewater Road
Longview, WA 9862

If you have any questions please feel free to call us. I will keep you all appraised of our efforts as things move forward.

Thank all of you, and God bless.

Historic Preservation—Blacksmith Workshop held at Stella, WA.

Students learned the fundamentals of blacksmithing and practiced basic techniques used in traditional blacksmithing. With the knowledgeable guidance of Matt Moore, they learned shop safety practices, use of blacksmithing tools, tending the forge, and basic forging techniques. Students developed skills by creating simple objects using iron, forge, hammer and anvil.

The workshop was held in the the historic town of Stella, Washington. This workshop is supported by the Stella Historical Society. Thanks to Harvey Williamson for his efforts in organizing the workshop.

College students will get a hands-on taste of historical blacksmithing techniques at Stella starting on Saturday. But they won't be pounding iron on a 100-year-old anvil just for curiosity's sake.
