We do a bi-weekly podcast at the museum. More information is at WackyPoemLife.com. The Rural Oklahoma Museum of Poetry is a 501(c)3 non-profit, but it is not a traditional museum. It is, however, in the traditional sense of the word “museum,” a place that is sacred to the muses, the muses of poetry in particular. ROMP celebrates the power of poetry in the daily lives of the people. We are an inclusive, non-judgmental, inviting place for people of any age to come and enjoy a great experience with words and art and more. We are a perfect spot for a small tour group (up to 25 people) or a class or students. We have a library, gift shop, exhibit spaces, and a workshop room. We also have an outdoor area with tables and chairs. ROMP is located in northeastern Oklahoma, at 416 E Main, in Locust Grove. The brainchild of poet Shaun Perkins, ROMP began in 2012 with a dream of poetry machines that turned into a creation of this place where people can have an experience of poetry.
