In 1921 a small group of concerned citizens, dedicated to preserving local history, founded the Clinton County Historical Society (CCHS). In the ensuing years CCHS has grown tremendously with the continued goal of preserving the Countyโ€™s treasures, sharing them with the public through free programs and special displays., community events, history camps and programs for children. The main offices

are in the Heisey House Museum, 362 East Water Street. We offer research facilities and resources on people, places and things in our Countyโ€™s history. The museum and grounds are available for rental for private meetings, parties and events. Please call us for rates and availability.

We recently received a number of paintings donated by George Gedon by artist Helen Day. We are developing a display to be open to the public. Included are several paintings on loan from private collections.
We are also trying to reach out to any Helen Day family members for an invitation to the grand opening on September 11.
Please call 570-748-7254 if you are willing to loan a painting for the display or are a family member.
