After two years of running around in my head, a flicker of something imperfect yet still fascinating, found its way onto a a canvas. So many real landscapes seem out of a dream world. After two years you wonder, did I see it? Or dream it?

Glad I didn't give up on it either way. Not even sure if its finished but it was doing a lot of talking so for now I will look and listen.

It has been a crazy couple of days. I hiked at Cumberland Gap, enjoyed Baltimore, visited Shenandoah National Park where I drove skyline drive then finished up my mini vacation with a visit to Thomas Jeffersons Monticello before heading back towards Tennessee. Not bad for the first solo adventure in a long time.

There really is no place like home. I swear it got warmer and the sun came out as soon as I was over that TN line. So happy that I can sit on the porch with my coffee, husband, and dogos this morning. The order of that is not significant. I swear.

In the spirit of gratefulness this morning, a look back on the art of 2023 and a thank you to the supportive husband I have. We passed 18 years together and 15 years married in October. He is so supportive of my dreams and I can't imagine this adventure that is life without him.
