As Park County Council for the Arts' inaugural 2026 Artist Laureate, Parks Reece shared his passion for art with the next generation by teaching more than 100 Park County students the art of finger painting. His instruction drew on a unique artistic lineage, using techniques passed down from his mother, who learned directly from the inventor of modern finger painting. Through this hands-on experience, Reece not only introduced students to a distinctive artistic tradition but also inspired creativity, confidence, and a deeper appreciation for the arts within the community.

Ring ring! 📞

LOOK DOWN: A View From Above is still accepting submissions through September 5!

Here’s your chance to create something from a slightly different perspective. Whether you’re looking down at a flower, viewing a town or mountain range from above, gazing back after ascending a peak… or interpreting “above” in a less literal way - we want to see what A View From Above looks like to you.
All mediums welcome.
