Army Corps of Engineers, is a 700-acre native plant refuge and working farm located along the banks of Deer Creek in southern Jefferson County. Sinnamon Visitor Center, the historical Hildebrand Ranch, a restored 1918 dairy barn and silo, the 1874 Deer Creek Schoolhouse, 2.5 miles of nature trails and numerous wildflower gardens. The area is known for exceptional bird watching.

Join us for a U-Pick Sunflowers event at Chatfield Farms this Friday, Sept. 4, and Saturday, Sept. 5, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

We still have an abundance of sunflowers, so we are opening our field to visitors once again. Fill a provided vase for $25 (no cash) and take home your own beautiful bouquet!

What you need to know:
🌻 You must purchase general admission to Chatfield Farms.
🌻 Check in at the Robert & Judi Newman Welcome Center and ask for directions to the sunflower patch.
🌻 Snips and vases are provided at the patch.
🌻 Fill a vase for $25.
🌻 Credit/tap only, NO CASH.
🌻 First come, first served.
🌻 The patch is not wheelchair accessible; strollers are okay.
🌻 The road is a little bumpy, so wear good shoes, hats and sunscreen. It's a farm!

James and Pumpkin, our Chatfield Farms working cats, have major FOMO watching all of the shenanigans and insisted on a waterlily-themed update. What do you think? Can they pull off the look? 🤠

⚠️ Did our exceptional editing skills trick you? Unfortunately, James and Pumpkin did not come to York Street for a waterlily photoshoot. They probably wouldn't have enjoyed the water. 😆

A female bobcat and her kitten were spotted resting in a tree at Chatfield Farms. 📸😻

We were excited to see these elusive animals enjoying our native plant refuge. Since 2015, we have been working to restore the Deer Creek Natural Area. What was once a channelized stream is now a habitat for native riparian plants and a valuable corridor for wildlife!

⚠️ Chatfield Farms is a wild place, and that’s part of what makes it so special. Please respect nature and the wildlife that call it home by keeping your distance, staying on designated trails and allowing animals to move through their habitat undisturbed.

We’re visitors in their home. Let’s enjoy and protect it together. 🌿🐾

James is our director of pest management here at Chatfield Farms. Staff and volunteers usually spot him taking cat naps amongst the plants in our greenhouses. 🥹

A round of applause for one revolution around the sun! Happy first birthday to the Welcome Center at Chatfield Farms! 🌞🌿

For the past year, our 3,800-square-foot Welcome Center has transformed the way we greet visitors and the Chatfield Farms experience. Guests can now browse a gift shop, stocked with branded merchandise and outdoor essentials, or pick up refreshments before or after exploring the gardens, farm and trails.

We’re grateful for this wonderful addition to Chatfield Farms and look forward to more exciting improvements to come as the Chatfield Farms Master Development Plan continues over the next few years.
