Having just seen one of the greatest structures that man has ever built in the Milan cathedral I’m reminded of skilled artisans and lost arts and as I work on this new charcoal piece today, I’m reminded that traditional artist are the backbone of the art world! We are not the flash in the pan … the NFT that’s here today and worthless tomorrow or any of the other Art fads that have come and gone… the artist who truly loves and hones their craft hopefully will continue to be appreciated, even in the face of an ever-growing digital world where our space is made small, smaller and smaller, but my hope is that artists like me, even if we are considered dinosaurs, will continue to be more rare and more respected, and therefore command higher prices and more collectibility for our work because there will be fewer and fewer people doing it in the next 20 years. We are the BEDROCK of the art world…always will be, because we respect and continue the craftsmanship of those who came generations before us.
